Since 2005, the annual Notre Dame Forum has invited campus-wide dialogue about issues of importance to the University, the nation, and the larger world.
The 2026–27 Notre Dame Forum will focus on the theme, "What Does It Mean to Live a Good Life?" This question has long animated the work of philosophers, theologians, artists, and scientists, and it has never been more timely amid the dramatic social, political, economic, and technological change we all face today.

"What does it mean to live a good life?"
Fr. Dowd addressed the class of 2030 during the Moreau First-Year Seminar's Signature Event, An Evening with the President, on September 24 in Notre Dame Stadium. As a foreshadowing of students' Commencement in 2030 and drawing from the Moreau FYS readings, Fr. Bob joined two Moreau Peer Leaders and all first-year students in a conversation on the theme of living well at Notre Dame.
